Automaker Mobility Rebate Programs

Overview

Most of the major automakers in the world understand that there is a cost associated with modifying or adding equipment to the vehicles that they make to allow people with disabilities to either ride or drive their vehicles.

To defray some of this extra expense they offer rebates between $500 and $1,500 that are paid directly to the consumer after they have purchased or leased their new vehicle.

In recent years most of the automakers have instituted a new rule associated with their mobility rebate.  If the mobility equipment is being paid for by a third-party organization or trust and not by the person with a disability they are not eligible for the rebate.  Be sure to look for details of the program before applying.
